Does anyone know whereabouts I could purchase some trailer wheels for a bike trailer.

Could normal wheels be adapted to make a trailer.

There are websites, which specialise in wheels, thousands of them.

If you are going to cantilever them, you probably want some with sealed bearings like these. It depends on how much you are going to carry. I've just been given an old 16" wheeled 'baby buggy' that I will try to turn into a lightweight trailer.

The trailer page on my website might be of help.

many thanks wob jon for your tips.

I am making telescopic kayak/canoe trailers. Telescopic cos they can be adjusted to the length of the boat.
The wheels I have obtained from our recycling depot, BMX with 14 mm axles, paid £10 for 9 of them. I screw the spindle as far as it will go to make a stub axle. The ally scrapper man there will save all the 14mm axle 20" wheels.

The tow hitch will be around the seat post enabling the bike to be laid on its side.

One of my other post on this site shows my bike with a 15ft sea kayak behind but that trailer doesnt always steer straight.

The new ones will be made of tubing and powder coated and sold for around £70, in Canada simila ones are going for £150.

Hope this project works out and saves use of cars.

kindest regards
