I am probably overthinking this but I was looking at taking my full size bike on a train, specifically from Cam and Dursley (CDU) to Bristol Temple Meads (BRI) it's an hourly service with a small 2 or 3 coach train.

Has anyone used this particular service?

I just wanted to confirm that the No bike spaces available refers to bookable spaces and that there should be 2 FCFS spaces.

Any feedback about likely availability of space greatly appreciated - service comes from Gloucester.

The second paragraph applies- it's first come first served, no reservations. It's a very annoying situation as, on what GWR perceives, 'quieter routes', you can no longer make reservations, but it'll give you that 'no spaces available' message. The Cardiff-Portsmouth services are the same. The problem is when you go further afield, say Swansea (as I would have liked to have done for the Cardiff-Swansea FNRttC in recent years), and it still won't let you make bike reservations for part of the journey when they are mandatory. I can't risk getting stranded 220 miles from home because I can't get on a train....
