I’ve always used John Lewis travel insurance. Just gone to renew, and they’ve stopped doing travel insurance!!

So who do I go to?

Going to South Africa end of next week to see my wife’s family. Then to Majorca for a weeks cycling in April, and then a week in August cycling in Italy. Might have a few other short trips to mainland Europe on top, and if we get our camper van in time then we’ll bugger off for much longer.

Any recommendations? BTW I’m 65 if it makes any difference.

I get mine through my bank (part of monthly upgrade) and no complaints (I've had to make claims a couple of times), however, this might be useful (being 65 does seem to make a difference)

Most if not all policies have a 30 day trip limit IIRC

I use a specialist* company called 'Insurewith'.
When the big C came to visit some companies wouldnt offer any cover full stop. The best I could get was £1K for 2 weeks. Insurewith did it for £85.00.
*It was set up by a woman who got cancer and found out how difficult it was.

As well as the obvious health conditions limits, watch out for restrictions on altitude, types of cycling (especially liability exclusions) and particular countries.

I'm about to start the renewal shuffle - wish me luck!

I use Columbus, they have a list of activities you can select to be insured for. I've never had to test how good they are at paying out, though, and I've always just done it online.

Can't help, but do keep a bookings paperwork trail, contacts, emails, receipts and other hard evidence just in case you do need to claim.
In a case of illness, medical evidence, Doctors letters etc.
