Owners of these great bikes may be interested to know you can swap the original 11 /28 cassette for a SRAM PG850 11 /32 CASSETTE without changing the rear mech.(You will probably need a longer chain though)

I use mine for commuting mostly for which the old cassette was fine but I have struggled up hills when laden with either shopping or camping stuff when touring. The new cassette really takes the strain out of big hills and full panniers.

Love(d) my Valencia used it for acouple of years before being seduced by a road bike but kept thevalencia with knobbly tyres fro light off road use.
