I think that came from the crocodile farm in "Live And let Die". The stunt where Bond runs across the crocodiles in the water to escape was done for real (although not by Roger Moore).

I recall seeing a frame-by-frame slow downed version where Roger Moore's wig comes adrift (from the stuntman) - they evidently couldn't persuade him to do a take 2 !
More likely they just didn't want to spend another couple of hours getting the crocs neatly in a line again
