Triban 3 small/45cm roadbike. As new condition, Manchester.

I bought this new from Decathlon for my youngest son back in July 2014 when he was only 8.



He's 12 now, approaching 13, and this year he has just got to the point where he is starting to outgrow it so it is time for it to move on to the next lucky owner.

This is the bike that really shook up the bike industry when it was launched and was unanimously accepted as the best value for money starter road bike by a long way. It is a proper bike with proper components and was often touted as being comparable quality and spec to many bikes costing double, or more, the Decathlon price of £300.

The bike is still in excellent condition as it has been kept for special occasions. I would be surprised if it has covered any more than 500 miles. Frame is unmarked, wheels are good and brake blocks are still full thickness. Everything works exactly as it should and as good as the day it left the shop.

He has had a couple of tumbles on it resulting in a scuffed r/h shifter and small tears on either side of the saddle. I have just fitted fresh bar tape as that had also suffered in the falls so the bike is now ready to use and apart from the minor cosmetic items already mentioned is in perfect condition.

As can be seen the bike is in really good condition and the fresh bar tape makes it look and feel like new. I can't see any chips or scratches on the frame and the chainstay is also untouched where the chain often eats away the paint.

Give me a chance, I hadn't finished as I ran out of room for pictures. I think it needs plenty of pictures to show how good it is, nothing to hide with limited pictures from carefully chosen angles. If you want more pictures just get in touch.

Great bike, the wife rides one (she's a short-arse), loves it. Must have the original barely-used saddle somewhere if the eventual buyer wants a replacement.

I fitted a youth specific saddle for him in preparation for his Manchester - Blackpool ride but he didn't get on with it and was happy with the original which he insisted was refitted, so it stayed.

You're not the only one. I keep looking at it and wishing I was smaller too. It is a fek'ing good bike!

Not sure yet. He does more mountain biking than road riding, not because of any preference but simply because of circumstance.
I have a full set of bits from my old commuter which would make him a great flatbar road bike if i can find the right frame.
