This morning my new phone case came.It has some feature qr code.Which being a numpty i did not want to use.It puts the date on a screen built in to the front of a case. But i was intrigued to have a go.But could not get it to work.On Googling a few other people could not.So i took the app off the phone.
Well this afternoon a text message came from PayPal telling me to log in about a transaction.
Strange that because i do not have a PayPal account. There is one in this household like there is one Ebay account.
We double up on purchases,so we check for each other.
Crafty scammers got nothing today. So i wonder if the Chinese qr code is at fault.Nice try anyway.

Sounds more like just a coincidence to me.

Pure coincidence, I get at least one request per day in my junk account to reset my eBay payment details, my PayPal details, Amazon, Barclaycard, HSBC login, etc. etc. They're just using a scatter gun approach sending out to tens of thousands of addresses, it's not down to any QR code. Just hover over the reply address each time and you see it's not genuine.
