That's a great point. Riding a trike lets you easily spot and grab hazardous trash, preventing flats for everyone. It's a simple act that makes a real difference.

Road riding if I assess stuff as a serious risk to traffic I park up and walk back. (Not on high traffic roads where risk to self is equated too high)
It has to be done strategically though as any car item impact can spell danger, as we well all likely know every time we pass even a small can in the road.

With a foot of snow on the ground, 10 below zero, and the wind out of the north at 40 MPH, I dont think so.
I've cycled to work when it was 15C below zero(-15C) doing at times 35 mph.
And I wasn't looking at my front wheel all the time either.
