Ok, memory lanesters, here's one from the same neck of the woods as the Yellow Pages one, with a defunct British frame builder, that smooth-talking old crook Ernie Witcomb, people cycling the wrong way up a one way street and a final shot at the top of Hyde Vale, on the edge of Blackheath. It's not an advert, though, it was made by someone like the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Actually that was before 1983, more like 79/80

That cant be right Carl as i remember that advert and im pretty sure i didn't watch much tv as a 1 year old boy. Unless it was re-run in late 80's ?

Ah, although there's a single broken line right across the street, it's not a one way street and never has been.

EDIT: Google map view

Good bit of research there! I stand corrected. Odd road marking though.

If it is in London, why are they speaking all northern? Funny, that they wanted a northern scene but found somehwere in the south with a hill and terraced houses to film it.

Actually thinking about it the Hovis hill is down south too.
