Just received this travel advisory:

Russia: The country's Federal Air Transport Agency has announced that additional security measures will be taken to screen passengers and luggage. Safety gantries are already in place in most airports due to the latent threat already posed by terrorism in the country.

Germany: Frankfurt airport (FRA) has announced increased security measures after a number of flights were rerouted to the airport from Brussels. An increased police presence has been reported at Cologne airport (CGN); other airports are likely to adopt similar measures.

United Kingdom: London Gatwick (LGW) and Heathrow (LHR) airports have announced increased security with additional police deployed. Eurostar services to and from Brussels are suspended until further notice.



That's tomorrow's 'work', Domodedovo - Frankfurt - Heathrow :-( I'm expecting road-blocks outside Abingdon.

Frankfurt: Showing delays of upto Nine hours inbound. Eleven outbound.
Heathrow: Normal delays inbound of upto Five hours, inbound.
Gatwick: Similar.

Nothing showing for Russia yet.

Oof - the entry security at DME could be "fun". You should be fine at FRA.

I'm heading the other way, YYZ-LHR. Main worry is the freezing rain that started tonight - hopefully it will clear off by tomorrow afternoon.

Bright and clear here, beautiful morning.

Security was just fine really, they did concentrate us all into 1 main entrance for the entry scan but apart from that I should have had an extra hour in bed!

Here's a bit of Russian weidness: If I'm up at Sparow-fart with a lot of flying ahead I quite like a Whiskey or Brandy with my Espresso, so I popped along to the 'Irish Bar' where Jamesons was advertised only to be told I can only have it with coke! No way could I have it just with ice :-(
A guy sat at the bar said to get around this rule you can buy miniatures at the Duty Free ..... sheesh, I'm not that desperate (well I am but ....), weird place.
