I'm from the NW (Lancs or Merseyside as it is now), but have lived in Kent for the last 50 years, so very familiar with the north/south differences in accents.

But noticed an episode of Eastenders the other day (nb not a regular viewer) and spotted the inclusion of the occasional Cockney rhyming slang. In this instance it was the word "pony" and it was said without the true emotion, so it came across as rather odd.

I wonder if our chatters from the North understood what the geyser meant.
