Trying to find a kids book from the 70s. Synopsis within

Howdo,

Am trying to find a pair of books I used to read when I was maybe 6 (so assume 1979 or thereabouts). They were square, few pages, mainly red and orange and concerned a little boy (who may be called Tim).

Tim (if that was his name) had a dad who had a shed, and in the shed, his dad built him a toy plane. It was big enough to sit in, and Tim could fly in it. He fell asleep on top of an airliner. Something else probably happened.

Tim's dad also made him a toy train. Tim could ride the train. I'm sure something happened there too. Don't remember what.

Anyway, I really want to find these books, for my son.

Anyone know what they were, or how I might go about finding them?

Damn! I can almost see the cover in my mind, but I can't read the title. As you can imagine, Google returns an awful lot of matches for 'child book aeroplane train shed dad' so I'm a bit stuck here....

Try doing a search on Amazon as you can drill down the searches to children's books, 5-8 year old books etc. You may spot it that way?

I recall vividly the Peter and Jane Ladybirdbooks (1a to 12b) which I read over the period of a couple of weeks when I was 6-7 (1969 ish). Thye are vivid because they were the set texts for that year and I shot through them and the teacher wouldn't let me advance onto other books. Same happened all through my junior school years. If only I had the internet back then; what damage I might have done.

I know they're definitely available now. But that doesn't help arallsopp any.
