Morning all,

I've been enjoying my new Giant TCR Advanced 2 which I got for a great deal at Rutland Cycles (they also assembled it). However in the past week my back tyre seems to have received a puncture even though it doesn't feel like it but going over anything other than smooth terrain I can feel the rim and it makes the ride feel very rough & uncomfortable. I've tried pumping it up, but the ride experience is no different.... I bought sealant but I was under the impression that it seals unless there is a big enough hole (which I can't see).

It also implies that the tyre would deflate completely if the hole is big enough for the sealant to come through.

Does this sound like a puncture to you tubeless veterans?

Not sure what you mean by feeling the rim. Are you saying the rim is hitting the floor?

What is your tyre size, rider weight and pressure front and rear.

Over the slightest bump, yes - but over freshly laid tarmac it's smooth as butter. Tyres are stock Giant Gavia AC 1 700x25. How would I check the pressure - could I use my track pump or does it require a specialised gauge? I weigh 80kg.

You need a pump, preferably a track pump, with a pressure gauge, or a separate gauge so you know what pressure you are starting off at and whether or not the tyre is retaining pressure over a period. There should be minimal loss over 24 hours. I find that I have to top up every week or so, based on a starting pressure of 90psi or so. If you don't have a track pump it's very difficult to achieve the correct pressure level.

1st thing 1st do you know what pressure to use? If not look at what it says on the tyre which gives a max and min pressure to use.
I take it your track pump has a gauge ? If so what's it show when you attach it to the tyre and is it in within the range given or a lot less?
