Hi Guys,
I know this will have been done a hundred times, but could still be useful for some of us, and yes, I've used the search function.
Anyway, I'm going to give tubulars a try. Primarily because I got a great deal on a pair of very lightweight wheels. I was wondering who else was using tubs, and if they had any top tips.
It seems to me that people are put off by the difficulty of repairing flats, and it's probably fair to say that for most people, roadside tyre changes are unlikely.
However from what I've read, tubs are much less likely to puncture in the first place (no pinch flats), and also, from what I've read from people who are actually using them full time, when they do get a flat, they just use Vittoria Pit Stop sealant, and they're back on the road in a couple of minutes (plus it carries on working for 3 months fixing new punctures as they happen. This to me sounds better than swapping an inner tube.
Of course I understand that Pit Stop will not always work, and there's a chance I may end up stranded, but to be fair, that's happened to me with clinchers, even with two spare inner tubes!
Oh, and I've heard that the ride on tubs is nice. Anyway, be interested to get views from any current or past users of tubs (not so much from people with no actual personal experience!).
