Morning

As in title.
From nice crispy frosty bright to Noah conditions.

I'm glad I live half way up a hill.
Today was supposed to be pruning the apple trees but it may end up more indoor stuff. At this rate, we won't need a spiring clean.
Turbo Trainer arrives in the post today apparently. But our post isn't exactly early.

Hmm... coffee

Not raining over in the east but I can see a big Pinno shaped yet lumbering over the horizon.

Coffee consumed, 50% of the kids despatched, time for a run before the rain and the removal of the other 50% of the yoof entity.

Does rain attenuate Wifi signals?

It appears that it does. My shed/office uses the house wifi. Router is by the window and has to go through 10-15m of outside air to me. Signal is utterly pants today. May have to activate plan B (mobile hotspot)

it does, though it's not a huge effect at wifi frequencies, domestic devices aren't that powerful, it may be that your signal was marginal anyway, energy efficient window coatings, wall insulation etc. can take their toll

you could try changing the router's orientation as there may be some directionality, or just get a long rj45 cable if you've got an ethernet ports each end

I've considered running cables but the signal from the house is good enough ... just about ... almost. It's a bit crap but it's good enough to dissuade me from doing anything else. "Marginal" is a good word. But today it's particularly pants. I'm blaming the rain but it could be just general crapness.

Failing that I can use my 5G phone, which has unlimited data, as a hotspot. That too is OK.
