Got it last night.....eating it today . We dont have some of those ingrediants eg horseradish, sweet potato, peanut oil.
I do have sesame oil which should do.

Don't use sesame oil in place of peanut; in a searing hot pan it will very quickly burn to a horrible bitter taste and spoil your fish.

EDIT: Just use a vegetable oil or similar.

Lace through with anchovies, rub with good olive oil and pan fry to rare - medium rare at a pinch.

If you insist on well done - braise in a rich tomato sauce with a handful of capers
As @PK99 says, with the following to go with it... (I love Tuna steak, and this is what I tend to do with it)
In advance, roast some cherry toms, whole cloves of garlic and a wee bit of chopped onion.
Salad to go with. Olive oil/balsamic/lemon juice/garlic dressing. Capers in the dressing if you can get hold of some.

Oddly enough, I had a tuna steak last night. Jerk seasoning all over and let it marinade for an hour or two. Cook some noodles and stir-fried peppers, and then sear the tuna. Slice it, splash of soy, glass of wine and dig in.

And don't use a searing hot pan if you have already applied a glaze with honey - it will carbonize.

Though blackened would be another way to prepare it ....... (google) yum!

(you won't have the ingredients for that either :hello: )

Mrs C does something amazing with Tuna Steak. Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea what - so this is of course no help to you. She serves it with noodles if that's any help.

TBH I prefer Salmon simpler than that, I just use Olive Oil, Sea Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper (grinder set to coarse) I'd then have New Potatoes and Green/Runner Beans and a Dill Sauce

Dill Sauce
Pot of Double Cream
A good teaspoon of Wholegrain Mustard
Tbsp of Dill

Method
Put it all in a saucepan and bring to the boil whilst stirring with a small whisk. :hungry:
