Tyre blowout cause??

I suffered a blow out in the tyre which sounded like a gunshot within the last mile of my 70 mile ride last Sunday
I first noticed my tyre had developed 2 sidewall bulges during the ride and carried on hoping to make it home , don't know whether it was the tyre or inner tube that was at fault.

If you're getting sidewall bulges it's almost undoubtedly the tyre. Perhaps not seated correctly or goosed but none the less, the tyre.
