Having failed to source suitable forks for my winter bike, I am needing to come up with another plan. I have ruled out the summer bike. I have no desire to resurrect the fixed (stoning may occur) so I am left with my old mountain bike.

It is heavy but worthy and I converted it to a tourer years ago. It needs new tyres. Currently fitted are Schwalbe Marathon Slick 26 x 1.3 tyres. These have been on there for a very long time; at least 8 years and many thousands of miles. Last puncture I fixed I noted the paper thin nature of what's left!

I can get these on and off easily which I believe isn't the case with a lot of the Marathon range?

I need recommendations. I thought these may fit the bill? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/continental-ultra-gatorskin-mtb-road-tyre/
Or,

Or something else? The rims by the way, are Mavic X517 SUP.

Thanks as ever.
