Looking for some good rubber to replace stock tyres on my new bike and have narrowed it down to:

Vittoria CX Open Corsa (heard durability is an issue though)

Conti 4000's

Schwalbe One V guard

Michelin Pro 4 Serv Course

Any opinions on these guys and gals? Obviously looking for a good balance of grip, puncture ressistance, and rolling ressistance.

Cheers

Personally I'm happy with Vittoria Rubino pro which have been serving me well this last year

Cheers a for the replies guys. I heard somewhere that Conti come up large i.e a 23mm actually measures 25mm if you stick some verniers on them. Is this correct?

Depends on the rim. All the tyres you list will perform well. Durability will be an issue with all tyres where performance is the main criteria..

Vote for the Conti's. Have had them on my bike for over a year with no issues at all. Don't wear down easily and grip fine.

Don't follow my example, but I just snapped up a conti supersonic 20mm for £22, with one of my birthday Amazon vouchers. Won't be durable, but hope it will go quickly!

The Michelin Pro 4 is an excellent tyre although not the most robust. From experience I can tell you that a Veloflex Open Corsa (two for £52 from Ribble) is less robust but rides really superbly, especially with latex inners, and grips like a grippy thing, wet or dry. Really, the grip is amazing and the bike feels so planted. However being soft they wear fast and might puncture a bit more but I'm prepared to live with that in exchange for the superb ride. Veloflex are made by the same family who made Vittorias before they outsourced production to the Far East.
