Hi - I got this Marin and would like to get new tyres for it!…what are my options and would it be able to take 700’s without much in the way of adjustments ?!?
(**I’m hoping to fit them myself!)

Any specific (good value!! 😀) recommendations for leisure and some commuting use in central London?

Thanks!

The tyres that are already fitted look ideal for the use you describe. Why do you want to change them?

You can only use 700c tyres if you have 700/29" wheels.
As above what's wrong with those ones? What size is on there presently?
If you want to commute hassle free and aren't fussed about weight or speed, Marathon Plus usually pretty bombproof. Whether you can fit them yourself, depends on your tyre fitting abilities, technique and thumb strength! If you want something lighter and faster rolling, something like a Durano but you might get more punctures (or you might not)

Well they seem a bit worn on the sides…and I do like the bigger tyres, although there’s no particular reason for that 😂

I was assuming with the condition the tyres were in I’d need completely new ones?

Yes, rear is knackered
The schawble seems ok!, it looks a bit thinner then the other one!- was going to look at the schawble city tyres?!…would it make much difference if I replaced both ?

So just been to Halfords, they tell me they can’t remove the wheel as it’s got some sort of anti-theft locking system that needs a key …. Which I don’t have obviously….

he said I’d probably have to cut it off?? …what am I missing here??- I can’t find anything obvious about marlin tyres being locked on when I google it?

🤨😬

Call the seller and ask for them to fish out the 'key'? Does look like it's a hex socket. It's not the tyre 'locked' on, it's the wheel (to stop it being pinched).
