presently i have some knobbly tyres on my hybrid and am considering swapping them for marathon +. my question is as follows,
my wheels have the following markings on them. 622x17 6061H-T6. my present tyres have on them. 28x13/8 x 1 5/8. as a newbie i have no idea what these figures mean.
the maraton+ i have been offered have the markings. 32-622 (28x1 5/8x1 1/4 - 700x32C) HS 348
would these suit my wheels? and could anybody explain what all the figures mean if possible.
there are also some marathons on ebay with the description of 700x35c, would they fit?
many thanks in advance

This is most probably your rim size, 32c's should be perfect

700C is the approximate diameter. It can depend on what sort of surfaces you ride on. 35c will give you a slightly more cushioned ride for bumpy paths where as 32C may give you slightly better rolling for road cycling.

622 = wheel diameter (= 700c wheels). 17 = rim width which is suitable for 25mm to 37mm width tyres according to Sheldon Brown. 6061 = the grade of aluminium alloy that the rims are made of. T6 is the heat treatment the rims were given (best one available).

The 700x32 tyres will fit fine as will the 700x35 Marathon tyres you mention (just to be confusing, the 700x35 Marathons are actually 37mm wide but will still fit okay - I have these and like them a lot.).
