Tyre size

I am looking to get some new tyres for my recently purchased MTB. Currently it has a set of standard tyres sized 26 x 2.25 on it. I have seen some tyres i would like to fit for the winter but not sure if they would fit,

No they wont fit, they are for 700c wheels your are 26 inch.

They are 26 inch so should fit fine , they're a bit thinner than your existing tyres so there won't be a problem with clearance :-) You should be fine rim width wise too but you might want to check Sheldon before you order or get it seconded by somebody with a mtb .
