One point - it doesn't ask for tyre size. Small wheels are much more susceptible to getting stuck in tram tracks IME.

Even more scary - that Sheffield trams want to exclude the basic design of the infrastructure from consideration?

I'm not sure they do. This looks to be a very specific project with a very specific aim, conducted by a group of tribologists. I wouldn't expect them to be interested in or know anything about infrastructure planning. There may well be a group of aspiring planners carrying out an equivalent project in their particular discipline.

Agreed - I suggested it should be a separate question (like the tyre pressure) but the response was that "it would be included in the answer to the type of tyre".
