I have been cleaning and checking the bike over, thought it might be a good idea to check that my tyre pump works, it does but not on the valves on my tyres. They are a sort of thin thing with a bit sticking up at the top, not the usual Schreider type things that my old MTB had and the car has, Confused.com, what do i need to get for when the inevitable happens?

Cheers.................Howard

A dual pump with Presta valve inflation Google it. U can get a little converter which costs £1 so you can use an ordinary pump

What pump have you got? Some have a hidden adapter and others can be changed by unscrewing, flipping bits around and reassembling.
A cheap one from Asda, i will invest in something a bit more substantial, thanks to you for all the replies, some very good advice as usual. We have a very good (so i am told) independent cycle shop in Morley, so i am going to call in and get sorted with a couple of spare tubes, and will address the pump situation at the same time.

Cheers.............Howard

I've got this genius bit of kit for on the road (got it from Aldi). Schrader on the top, presta underneath, a high volume / high pressure switch at the bottom, and a gauge, all for four quid

I have a Boardman track pump at home with a smart head (fits presta or Schrader with no adjustment).
