I am disappointed with continental tyres just now, everyone I've had up to now have been hard wearing, they've had a good p'ture record and they grip well. The last 4 Conti Grand Prix's I've had though have all failed quickly at the side walls, both front and rear tyres. A previous grand prix had an excellent record 9600 (only 1 or 2 p'tures iirc) and I went on that experience when I ordered the new tyres. The 1st new tyre lasted less than 300 miles, I put it down as lady luck balancing itself up, so I ordered a replacement, it didn't last long either
Stupidly after an email to Conti-UK who assured me I had been unlucky and I'd decided that it was probably because they were 22mm tyres, ordered 24mm as replacements. The 24mm's lasted a bit longer but still not very long before they suffered the same fate (the longest lasting just 1220miles). Too cut a long story short I've just fitted Mitchelin's as a replacement this time.
