Sorry for another tyre post but just been out for a little bike clean and check of the tyres, I try to check the tyres over before every ride. I hooked out a sizeable bit of flint from my front and it left a good size cut, is there anything i can fill cuts and niks in with? think i remember someone saying they use superglue? any other suggestions or do you just leave them? I have been leaving them but was thinking about prolonging the tyre life.

I've always used super glue. A little drop into the cut, squeeze together with a pair of long nose pliers for 30 secs.or so. Bingo!
Its never failed.

+1 for superglue, loads of flint round here in the Chilterns so if I replaced my tyres every time one had a cut I would be having them delivered by the truckload. Ive found superglue gel to be the best option for me and sealing the split with glue keeps the crap out.
