Conti race king protection, fast quiet good resistance
Buy in size 2.0 if you can.

The Trail king is also very good if you want more off road grip, these are more high volume but roll very well and quiet for a chunky tyre.

It's always a trade off between on road speed and off road capability but marathon GGs are a avail to 37c in most diameters and Plus up to 45c. The OP doesn't specify diameter.

I'll second that...had Racekings on for 2 years and never had puncture.

Schwalbe Smart Sams are decent MTB tyres and fast on the road. Punctures are overrated and really restrict your choice. These tyres are really supple so sorting out a puncture is a doddle.

got one i use on the front in summer , very good tyre

Do you want them to fit on an MTB, or be capable off road? I have just swapped to Continental Sport Contacts on my technically-an-MTB but it doesn't do much more demanding than the odd light off-road. If you want full tread, it's not going to be easy rolling.
