Cake - highly respected
Tea - valued by the gallon
Chocolate - socially virtuous  (if not so high-profile as the other 2)

I'd have bought a bike a lot sooner if I'd realised that cycling's such a corner of 21st-century civilisation, where my three favourite things in life aren't to be scorned or naughtified.

You forgot the beer!
True, but I'm a cheap drunk (get pished on half a lager) and seldom drink. But I can't go a day without cake or chocolate and at least six pints of tea.

Get yourself signed up on one of the Scottish CC forum rides and see if you can cut it with the veterans of over-indulgence! ;)

Thanks, Dayvo, but they'd not thank me for tagging along just yet. Not only am I still clueless on roads beyond a few known neighbourhood routes, I'm still doing well going a six mile round trip, and it takes forever. Still get wobbly-legged / sick at the drop of a hat, and gotta get off just about every mile or every hill. (But;) thermal tea-mug always handy.) On a bad day I need a bit of a lie-down back home before making a cuppa - how bad is that???!!! But getting there...

I don't drink tea on cake stops because I'd be peeing for the rest of the ride! Coffee doesn't have quite the same effect for some reason. At the risk of outing myself, my preference on winter rides was actually hot chocolate!
