SWMBO got it, I didn't as I don't need to be advised about things which would be stupid to do anyway.
It's not a national alert anyway given we're not about to be bombed / invaded / impacted by a giant asteroid, just told not to have disposable bar-be-cues.

I got it as I was cycling up Holme Road, ironically the whole 4.5km was shut because of the Holme Fen forest fire. Luckilly a bike got through. Never realised what it was though and didnt read it until I was Home.

Maybe mobiles switched off.
Problem is many fires are being started by farm machinery so could happen anywhere there is such. Almost daily reports in North Yorkshire of something on a farm going up in flames.
no you can, as I realised theyd start using the system like this, so expect more for strong wind, snow etc etc etc because politicians cant help themselves feeling like they are being seen to do something, even if that something is completely irrelevant, its something for them to cling on to, and I always figured if it was the 3min warning alert, there was naff all I could do about it anyway.
however the phone companies are quite sneaky when your phone upgrades to the latest software version, it can have a habit of switching itself back on.
no didnt you see the One show ? all of their phones they had on them or in the studio as they loads of guests for the anniversary special, went off with the alert, whilst they were broadcasting, they thought it was a fire alarm at first till they worked it out, after it went off again.

) spring to mind but much of the west of Scotland got heavy rain all last week and parts of the East are having rain sporadically. There hardly ever be a hosepipe ban up there and water is not metered.
