I noticed last night that the left hand main lever on my Ultegra lever is sticking - it shifts OK but doesn't return to the normal position afterwards, I was having to manually push it back.

I seem to remember that I had the same thing happen last winter, but got the lever changed as it was still under warrantee. However, it seems to have happened again and this time I'm not covered.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Is it fixable or am I looking at having to fork out for a whole new lever assembly? And is it caused by anything I've done?

Spray of WD40 first and a good wiggle.

Might have some muck in it or the assembly grease has dried out.

Sorry, should have specified that it's one of the shifter buttons that is sticking, not the whole lever itself. To be precise it's the left-hand assembly, and the larger of the two buttons (front mech downshift on my setup)
Douse it in WD40.

Hi,

Although the tread is a bit too old.
I got the same issue that my left side Ultegra Di2 button does not automatically go back to the original position after shifting. I need to manually push it back.

Can I check how did you manage to resolve the issue?

Thanks.
