How many others are there left? I know a few have given up recently (and well done for that), but I still rather enjoy my rollies. Anyone else still smoking with no intention of giving up?:headshake:

Smoking gave me up. I used to quite enjoy my occasional social fags, especially down the pub, but one day they just made me feel sick and I stopped. I actually tried to start again one new year but failed. Then I started cycling and decided that they weren't compatible with my new found fitness.

Could you please take this thread outside please!

Gave up 16 years ago, those patches are good but hard to light.

Smokers forced to stand outside are called Snoutcasts around here.

I gave up many years back but it must be hard being a leper, nay, a social outcast in these judgmental times. How do you cope with being looked down upon and sneered by us fitness gods:evil:

Blimey, I hope they never ban the booze from pubs. We can't all pop down to the Dog and Duck and play crib with a glass of orange squash.

Good excuse to get out of work for 10 mins every now and then!

Too bloody right. There's a bloke 'works' in the hangar opposite my office and he seems to spend more time outside 'toke-ing up' than he does working. Every time I look up, the b*****d's out there again!

Having a discussion along these lines just t'other night, leading to 'well why don't you bloody buy your own then?'. Fair point. But as I explained, if I start buying it again, rather than poncing the occasional fag when I see mates, I'll start smoking again. And while I enjoy the occasional one or two, there's no way I ever want to be 'a smoker' again.

I'm on Dunhill Lights at the moment, Singapore duty free so a good price!

I know it's a bad idea, but I love smoking, so not giving up yet!

In my 20's I had a 40 a day habit(Marlboro Red).
Once I hit 30 I was down to 20 Silk Cut a day.
Now I smoke about 10 thin roll ups a day.

Would dearly like to give up completely but since giving up alcohol 8 & 1/2 years ago smoking is my only vice and I fear the piety that would come with giving up fags & booze might be too much to bear.
