this has not been my experiance, but im sure you know best, and how reasureing for the odd victim ,that is out there,or are there none any more?
It has always been legal in the UK - and still is - for people to defend themselves using as much force as is reasonably necessary and for as long as is reasonably necessary.
I guess that you want to use excessive force, preferably a weapon, and use it just in the face of a threat? And carry the weapon around with you on the off chance?

It is entirely legal to defend yourself, as long as you use a proportionate response.
Do you have any specific examples you'd like to share?

sound idear, apart from the excesive force, (wrong guess)and use it preemptively? yes in the face of a snarling dog that may well bite me, seems fair to me as they are not know for there ability to reason, and are genrally more difficult to out run than an agressive human.is my pump that i have used to divert a dogs mouth,(giveing something to chew on other than me and a child) now a wepon? given that it worked that time and i plan if ever in the same situation to do so again, become a wepon?. but i must admit that i do like the idear of carrying something more robust, thanks for the idear. though i chose to try and remain within a law that i feel favors the perpetrator:smile:
