I was right about that saddle
I now wish to undo all the modernisation to the Frontiera I have built up. I currently use it as a winter training bike.

I need to:
Re-instate the down tube shifters (will have to source)
Put old style brake levers on (I have)
Purchase an old style crankset (Don't have)
Buy some old style wheels (9 speed ?)
Put some cage pedals on (I have)
Hopefully keep the front and rear derailleurs if I can (Tiagra, 9 speed and triple)

I think I will buy the parts over time and when I have everything, put it back to how it was.

Any advice sourcing parts appreciated.

You'll struggle to find 9 speed downtube shifters I think but I managed to get 7 speed ones to work with an 8 speed rear cassette (indexed) on my Raleigh Road Ace, I'd planned on using them in friction mode but tried the indexing and it worked due to there being some slack between the 1st index 'click' and the limit of travel on the lever.

I'd try Spa Cycles for retro style components.
