Unfair Negative feedback - E Bay

Got my 1st bit of negative feedback yesterday what a joke

I sold an item and the winning bidder is refusing to carry on with sale as HE/SHE asked a question 20 mins before auction ended and I never got back to him/her (I was at work at the time). Now They have left me negative feeback saying i was rude for not answering a question

The buyer is a new e-bayer and only has 4 tranactions under THERE belt of which one is negative

I,ve appealed to E-bay but my case does not fit the criteria for them to remove negative feedback from my account, Ive also tried e-mailing the buyer asking for them to revise there actions........

What sort of negative comments could I leave ?

I'd not lose sleep over it.

The comment isn't about the quality of the merchandise or value for money. You other positive feedbacks should outweight the one negative.

The obvious point which you have made is - why did they carry on bidding without an answer to their question?

I'd just forget it and stop beating yourself up over it. I sold a bike on there to a fella in France, it was really great transaction and everything went ahead as planned, he paid straight away, the bike was delivered via UPS..........sorted

I left the appropriate feedback and was a happy bunny and was and still am looking forward to the favour being returned.....................




















Yeh right, it's never gonna now as it's been ages and the fella never even said thank you

You can't.

With the new ebay policy, you can only leave positive, or nothing at all, the negative or neutral options have been disabled.

This means that if the buyer takes offence at the packaging you've used, they can give you negative feedback and there's not a thing you can do about it.

I never bother leaving feedback anymore unless I get some first - I've left tons more than I've received so I'm well in credit! I've had an ebay account for over 10 years and I'm tired of boosting other peoples feedback with nothing in return.

I would just leave an appropriate comment about what an inexperienced user they are and to avoid them if at all possible, I realise the effect is a positive but the comment doesn't need to be.

The thing is the question which they wanted answering was actually in answered below as another user had asked previously days before,Hence the retard who won the item cannot read

I've not been on Ebay for years but there used to be a function that allowed you to put a comment next to negative feedback - is that still the case? Worth checking out.

Presumably they haven't paid then? So best you get along and start a "non-paying bidder" process. At least they'll get a strike against them.

There's a lot of talk about "unfair". If you want fair, avoid ebay, IMO.

If the most unfair thing that has happened to you is negative feedback, you've been lucky so far.

Stinks really. I mainly use ebay for buying now. I dislike it for selling things. I've had a real purge of bits and bobs recently all bike or rc car related. I only sold one through ebay and the rest via subject related forums. It just seems more hassle than it is worth these days. I'm sure ebay must be losing revenue through their current policies.

Ebay is starting to go down the pan lately. It's gone very much on the side of the buyer - and sod the sellers who's fee's have gone in their pockets over the years. I listed a computer item on there, it's category type refused to allow me to place a p&p charge, I thought it wouldn't be too bad but it went for £5 only, and it cost me £4 to post with royal mails rip off charges. I take solace that at least it didn't go into land fill

If they want to stop the p&p rip off (which by the way is nothing to do with people over charging for p&p, it's about foreign sellers listing an item for £5 and charging £30 p&p to bypass the sellers fees, loading the real cost of the item onto postage so no commision to ebay for the real value), why dont they just stop the high volume exporters from listing? They won't because they want their cake and to eat it. Genuine sellers are getting sidelined, I think this will leave them vulnerable to new competition, let's hope so.

As for the neg feedback - don't worry as other pos' feedback will outweigh it, put a response to their neg' feedback on your own feedback page if you still can, just briefly explain the facts, and don't overly criticize them in it, you will come out best that way.

You need to start the non payer route you won't be able to do it for 5 days but you will need to get your fvf refunded when you have that you can get ebay to remove your neg as the item has never been payed for don't be put off by the drop down boxes not fitting your case they can and will remove neg for non payment
