Hello

I have the below as my winter bike, Im thinking of upgrading the brakes from cable to hydraulic. I dont think the cable brakes are all that great to be honest!

Would it be possible to upgrade the brakes / groupset to the below? Im not 100% sure if you can swap from cable to hydraulic brakes on this Steel frame?

Also I have a spare set of the below wheels, Im assuming I could upgrade to 11 speed gearing, as the wheels allow for upto 11 speed?

Thanks for any advice & help.

If the frame is already disc spec, then swapping to hydraulic is no issue at all.

At the risk of sounding like the part of the don't-upgrade-brigade - What is is about your current setup that you feel doesn't work as well as it should?

Also, it might be worth considering Semi-Hydro as you wouldn't need new shifters (as far as I know, at least) TRP HY-RD work great when set up properly and would save you a fair whack.

Juin Tech R1 are another option in the same vein.

I agree it sounds like a lot of faff and expense to upgrade from 10spd cable discs to 11spd hydro discs - probably wouldn't consider it worthwhile myself. But if that's what the OP wants to do... fair enough.

I've recently bought a Cannondale with hydraulic disc brakes and they seem so more responsive than the cable ones on my CDF.

Think I might go for the Ultegra, does anyone know of any cheap deals? Cheapest I can see is £700 for the groupset

Thanks again for all your help!
