Hi, I have recently purchased 2004 Koga Globetraveller -S. It's mostly Deore XT equipped. Im planning to invest some cash and make this bike shine again - this bike is 12 years old and I feel it needs some setup that is more up to date. Can you advise on some parts ? I want to start with derailleurs, cassetes and crankset + pedals. I will leave wheels as they are now. And no Rolhoff please, I cannot afford it

heres a list of part this bike uses

Chain Shimano CN-HG73 112 links
Front Hub Shimano Deore XT DH-3D70 6V/3,0W 36H 100mm
Rear Hub EDCO Silver Matt 40H 135mm
Crankset Shimano Deore XT FC-M760 44x32x22T with chainguard
Pedals Shimano PD-M324
Cassette Shimano CS-HG70 9-speed 11-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32T
Rear Derailleur Shimano Deore XT RD-M760-SGS
Front Derailleur Shimano Deore XT FD-M760 T-swing ø31,8 66-69

It looks a very nice well specc'd machine, more modern parts won't make any noticeable difference. I would only replace/update parts when they are required through wear and tear.

44T chainring needs replacement and the chain itself - What would be good replacement for Shimano CN-HG73 112 links ?
And one more thing.... how do you use that rear air shock suspension  There's a small handle on the frame holding a link going to that air shock.
