Hi all,
I'm trying to find USB 3.0 hubs with the following characteristics:
I'm looking at this, because I've just bought a new PC, and unlike the previous one, this is a laptop PC (running Windows 8.1), which I plan to have semi-permanently plugged in at my desk at home. The laptop has 2 * USB 2.0 and 2 * USB 3.0 ports, so I want to increase the number of ports.
I'd appreciate any information
.
I'm trying to find USB 3.0 hubs with the following characteristics:
- At least 4 USB 3.0 ports;
- At least 7 ports total (i.e. a mix of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, or all USB 3.0);
- Amperage on the power supply to be at least 4A. This is because I want to be sure that it can power as many devices as possible. USB 2.0 devices need 0.5A each, while USB 3.0 devices need 0.9A each. Of course, I understand that different devices will draw different currents, and that 4A may be sufficient for normal uses even with more than 4 USB 3.0 devices plugged in.
- Power brick compatible with Australian power outlets. We use 240V/50Hz, while the UK, if I understand correctly, uses 230V/50Hz, so a UK brick would be fine for my purposes, as I could just use an adaptor for the plug.
- The vendor of course must be able to ship to Australia.
