Im Gonna jump in and hijack this thread IIMBSB (my apologies Wheres-My-Beard?). But since some of of you know about the Edge 200 I thought it the place to ask some silly questions regarding screen icons on the device (there is bugger all in the manual). When riding a course what does the shaded sort of arrow in the left of the screen mean/do? And the number at the top of the screen (usually when I glance down at it it says 300) what does that represent? Other than that I have found the gadget to be great so far.

The arrow is indeed a compass. The number (300) is the amount of zoom out from the course. ie it's at 300ft.

Thanks Ian. I assume that the zoom level is automatic and cant be manually chosen?

Yup. It's set at 300ft. (The 500 you can zoom in and out)
However the more you use it the more you get used to it.
