My bike was in for a service yesterday and my Mum just phoned up to say it needs the bottom bracket changing and a few other things probably ...and it's not rideable!

I'll have to take use my mountain bike to get to work on Monday - I already can't be bothered.

I've got no speedo on that bike to motivate me and my air zound is on the other bike so I'll have to rely on yelling.

urgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

On the upside, hopefully it'll be fixed before I go to work again on Thursday and it'll be all nice and new for when I'm back to uni.

but, urgggh, so unmotivated now. Sympathy please!

Maybe I'll try and find an off road route to work

You think you've got problems, my frame has cracked and I haven't got a spare.

So I now have to use the train to get into work for 3 weeks, until the new frame arrives

hah no. She just booked the appointment when she was in the bike shop so they phoned her with all the problems

I already had a few ideas what would be wrong with it and I'm not surprised that the part needs changing.

Just annoyed as I like to keep up a decent speed on some of the roads to try and get less problems with the cars - just have to see what I can manage on the mtb.

What Ranger said, took mine in for a service and they found a big cut through the frame so it was the end.

Happily now I have two bikes.

Yep, it's nice having a back up. Even if I take a bit longer to get there it doesn't really matter as I don't have a formal start time. I reckon my commute won't take that much longer, maybe 10 to 15 minutes with the extra weight and that mtbs aren't really built for road speed. I had to use the mountain bike in the last office and that took me about 20 minutes, but that route was very hilly.

**starts thinking positivley**

Nothing wrong with yelling, it works for me. Had someone blocking the bike lane in his convertible Volvo (with top down) Friday morning, shouting "Excuse me" worked better than an airzound (could be taken as rude and ignored) or bell (likely to be ignored).

I've got the air zound back - flat, so they obviously had a play at the lbs ;)...and yep, there's a time and a place for everything. I don't feel like I have to use it just because I've got it.

You mean 2 unicycles?

I'd rather do my trip to work on my mountain bike than a unicycle
