Valentines Day - Love it, hate it, or somewhere in between?

I hate it,it seems so made up.A guilt day if there ever was one.

My poor postman has had to take off sick due to the strain on his back from delivering all my cards.

It's only worth bothering about if it's an anonymous card to someone like, say, your wife's best friend.

When I was at university, someone sent me a tiny bottle of 4711 on 2 valentines days and my birthday in between (or something like that; there were at least 3 occasions). I never found out who it was. No one else I knew got them, so they were only for me.

It's a lot of years later, but I still love that I had a secret admirer, and hope I wasn't mean to him (oh! or her!) without meaning to be.

I just spoke to my ex and we have agreed that we will celebrate Valentine's day this year by not being nasty to each other! She doesn't know it, but I may chuck her a 120 g bar of Fruit and Nut too - she only eats about 50 g so I would get 70 g of it!

Because we are best mates who have known each other for 35 years! We became partners because we fancied each other. After 15 years of bickering, we decided that we might be better off as just good friends!

Let me put it this way - we are better together for a few hours at a time than a few days at a time.

Would no hours be better than a few hours? Well, we went our separate ways when we split up and did not speak to each other for about 18 months, but then when following relationships didn't work out we didn't kiss, but we did make up!

I'm watching my weight, but at least I get 70 g instead of the 50-odd of a smaller bar!
