Van Nicholas Ventus?

Hello all,
I'm thinking of getting a Van Nicholas Ventus frameset in size 54.
Are there any actual owners of a Ventus willing to offer their views and comments whether positive or negative?
Any advice welcomed.
Thanks.

There's a few of us on here with the Ventus (and other TI frame bikes) - Have a look at the "Show us your titanium" thread in the Photo section.

I've only just recently got mine and a combination of lousy weather and work mean it's only been properly ridden twice (albeit for a metric century on one of them). First impressions are of a bike almost as light as my Boardman Carbon but with a ride that smooths out the road like you wouldn't believe. Beautiful looking frame (especially with the decals removed) and some lovely detailing at the rear dropout.

I can't comment on the sizing, but if you're just buying the frameset, you have the opportunity to spec the rest of the components to create a bike that will last for years.

@ianrauk has had one for a while longer and may be able to provide more info.

Thanks for your reply and it's a positive one.
I'll have a look at the "show us your titanium" thread.
As for my sizing, (everyone seems to have an opinion on frame size), I'm 5'10" with 31" inside leg, the VN sizing calculator points me to about 52.8cm.
I've also been advised to go for the 54 but would like to visit a dealer for confirmation before the ££ outlay.
An email to VN for their recommendation has drawn a blank with no reply from them.

Definately go to a dealer to try for size if you're spending a considerable amount. I'm about an inch taller than you but with 33" inside leg so borderline 56 or 58 frame. I tried a 56cm frame at Fatbirds which felt too small so I went for a 58cm frame with a 110mm stem and 42cm width bars and it fits me perfectly.

Calculators can give a guide to sizing but how you feel on the bike is all important.

Shame you are not in the South East as would have been happy to let you try the bike.
