So many other bikes to choose from that are neither of these.

Cant see the appeal of either really. Sorry.

An old vespa beats both hands down in my opinion.

Yes but my 1962 Vespa is worth £4k+, 2 guys could lift it into a van from outside my work, no chain would stop them.

You could always, buy a cheaper one.

Or an old classic, or a new classic, or something different (that doesn't look like a clown bike) or like the same old 'first big bike" yammer.

Of the two, I could forgive the Yamaha more, the other one is just trying so hard to gain attention.

No, the 125 is as spindly as owt, I'd look silly on one. I know about these bikes, I think Herald, Sinnis, HMC & Mash are all the same Chinese bikes with various branding exercises. I've looked into them but can only find one decent "real" life" owners review for a Mash 400. I am open minded about the quality but need more owners reviews before I'd buy one. Barcelona is teeming with Mash bikes 125's, 250's & 400's. (Say's 500 on the bike but it's a 400 )

If you are thinking of this, then get yourself a Kawasaki zephyr for £1500, if you're handy, you could make one into something like this

Thanks, but I have had a lot of similar and have no need nor want for such a bike again. I used to ride motorbikes for leisure/pleasure but now I cycle, same with touring, I just don't have the time, and, with a repetitive 7 mile congested commute, a large bike won't provide any added pleasure, a 125 (£15 road tax plus 90+ mpg) is all I need. Although there is a Van Van 200...........
Get a Honda Vision then. Much more MPG than that, and too simple to ride.
I don't think so! I only ride things I like (looks cool), I have standards (comes from riding a Vespa) and that way I look after them.
Yeah, well sometimes function takes over. I miss my Vision, and I'd have it back in an instant. My 500X is cool, but you can't fling it around like that little plastic Honda.
Not for me with my transportation, form always over function. :okay:

Couldn't agree more. I ride a 125 grand tourismo for the same reason. Its just that at one point in the thread you looked like you were considering a "big" bike.

Stick with the vespa...storage, heaters, step through (so no specialist clothing) clean, zero maintenance, cheap, easy and super fun to ride.
