Vbrake upgrade.

Just put a set of these on front & back.
Clarks 70mm XTR Threaded Pads & Shoes
I have put the salmon colour ones in is there a difference apart from the colour as there doesn't seem to be any information on them other than they come with a spare set of pads.
They certainly seem to brake well with as yet no noise when braking.

The colouring comes from Iron Oxide (powdered rust) used in the rubber instead of Carbon (black) used in standard pads.

So the red one is better in terms of less of the black dust which i have found before changing.

The black dust/muck is the rim. The red/salmon pads are softer and slightly better in the wet.

Think i will stick with the red as they seem to brake well and being softer are probably kinder to rims.

Clarks pads are quite soft anyway - I use the blacks and red on my 3 road bikes.

After tips on here i use discobrakes.com v brake pads. Less than a pound per pad i think. Seem fine. Used on rigida sputnik rims with a regular clean of rims and pads and checking for debris.

The softer ones stop better in the wet as well.
