I think you are loosing the plot again Cab.
Cab's argument/logic is sound. Mr Muppet changed from saying that it was okay to be at that distance to then asking how long the bus was behind the cyclist at this distance for... the logic being that he was inferring that maybe it had only reached the distance as it was accelerating to overtake, and thus it was okay.

Or something like that.

Only to fit the mutual back slapping that is going on in this thread, I have rarely seen any sound logic from Cab, plenty of melodrama though. As it is if Mag says it was unsafe to pass the cyclist I'm inclined to believe it was indeed unsafe. I can see how the opening post could be misconstrued however with a comment on the cyclist not cycling well etc..., anything after that is probably Lee ragging you all as you gang up like a little cabal of indignation. By the way Mag, Waffly said "retarded", get her.

What rubbish, try actually thinking yeah! and put yourself in the position of the bus driver and his positioning with respect to the cyclist. It's not like the cyclist is going to stop dead is he?!?! People go on me about growing a brain cell...good lord.
Well, let's look at the evidence...

1. You ride without lights as it makes you a better rider.
2. You think that revving and beeping on a bus a mere 2 - 3m behind a cyclist who is riding perfectly acceptably is an okay way to drive.

The Defense rests.

Lee, what it the cyclist went over a diesel spill and came off? That is why safe stopping distances should be adhered to.

....or hit a pothole, or something got caught in his wheel, or to avoid something in the road had to swerve suddenly to the right... etc.

I'd forget it origamist. He is a troll pure and simple.

Do not feed the troll:troll:

You can see diesel spills from about 100 yards away.

edit: maybe not that far, but a fair distance.

Lee, cyclists and motorcyclists will miss diesel slicks (often with serious consequences) - that's why it's a bad idea to drive so close to vulnerable road users.

Lee. Lee. Apropos nothing, but my in-laws use argument as a form of social interaction, in the same way that monkeys groom each other for fleas. For example once, on a typical tedious in-law family get-together, I had a bet with my brother-in-law that I could get my wife and his wife to argue over the angle of a pencil on a table. I won the bet, much to our mutual amusement.

So, as someone who just can't get worked up about things, are you arguing this just for sh1ts and giggles, or do you really believe what you're typing?

Yes, I did not see diesel on the road earlier this year and ended arse up on the road. Glad I did not have a nutter tailgating me 2-3 metres behind.

Well, if this is what you are doing then, you are an ar*e. In this particular situation the cyclist was in serious danger and the driving was very bad. Taking the piss of people who are trying to improve road safety and possibly even save a life or two (or an injury or three) is just a scummy thing to do in my opinion.

Very sad.

Bonj fishes (not as much as he used to do though), but he does it about harmless things like mudguards.

You think 'fishing' in this thread and others like it is funny? Bizarre.

I still think you're an ar$e, but I'm entitled to my opinion because we get another side to the debate (except that no-one is agreeing with your side).

Knock yourself out if you think this sort of thing is funny. It's a shame that no-one will take any point you have to put across seriously though.

Come on, where's your sense of humour! Conflict is good, brings out all the sides in an argument/debate.

Seriously, good luck with your letter, personally I would have ripped into the driver, forget the passenegers and got his name and number.

Following people is ok but at that distance it is lunacy. I treat cyclists as small cars and follow in respect of that.

Ah well, have a good one Mag, (sharky and cab though...hmmm)

Have a look through all of my other posts. You will find that I have plenty of humour and crack (or try to crack jokes all the time). All you did was waste my time without progressing the debate/argument at all.
