I'd keep the Suzuki too, or get a different house with off street parking, But the first option is cheaper.

The original poster says they have a drive.

It’s very possible to live with an EV without home charging but it is more expensive and less convenient. It depends on how often you need to charge and the type of driving you do. The cost of charging varies enormously, at home with an EV tariff I’m at about 8p per KW, so £2 fills half the battery in about three hours overnight and does me for a week. In the wild, rates vary with slower chargers being cheaper, perhaps 20 p and those on the motorway more like 90p per kw but you can charge half the battery in 30 mins. If you have a local charger you can leave your car at for a couple of hours it could work out ok. There are lots of deals and subscriptions that can reduce costs.

The difficulty with any 'pavement' solution is getting parked outside your own house, and of course the problem that most terraces don't have the capacity to support more than a few EV's.
Unfortunately there is still a lot to do, in work and policy, to make electric ownership viable for the masses. We'll get there eventually I expect, but it not straight forward.

Don't buy a cow if you don't have a field!

Car ownership is a privilege, not an inalienbale right, and inflicting it upon the rest of society even when youre not using it is antisocial at best. Roads are for travel, not storage.

This really is becoming a motoring forum with a legacy cycling problem. At least we're talking more about EVs these days.

True or if not motoring then way way more threads and posts than ever are on subjects other than cycling. Some of course have run out of things to say on cycling maybe as did it 5/10/20 years ago or whatever but it seems lots never/rarely ride these days. Any threads which aren't specific to cycling but cycling gets a mention get moved etc or edited yet it's seemingly Ok to post anything about anything elsewhere.

As for original topic of this thread, I've got an EV and charge at home as I have a big private drive. Aside from cost, if I had to solely charge using commercial chargers that would put me off owning an EV, the lack of convinience would be the killer. I charge 99.9% of time overnight at home.
The infrastructure is finally getting better but mainly in or around big cities. Those of us out in the sticks are often scratching to find a charge station.
