Many apologies if this is a repeat post, if so please delete mods.

The article said that the driver of the car was not the registered keeper and so hasn't been found yet. Prosecute the registered keeper for assault then, they'll soon tell you who was driving!

Best of all you can watch it in 1080 HD which gives a really clear image of the driver/attackers face!

BBC News :

Simon Page, 49, was punched in the head by a car driver in Bexley High Street, Bexley, south-east London, in May.

Mr Page, of Guildford, Surrey, was one of seven cyclists riding from Dover to London in training for a charity ride.

The helmet-cam video, which shows a silver Peugeot pulling over and a man getting out and punching Mr Page to the ground, has been handed to police.

Mr Page said the assault had happened after the driver had tried to overtake another cyclist in the group...

...Mr Page said he had been memorising the car registration when they spotted him and said: "We see you have our number, now we're effing gonna run you over".

Just seen that.
Totally shocking.

It's funny when a speeding ticket drops through your door you'd get prosecuted for not saying who was driving if you say it wasn't you but in this case they don't know who was driving.
Though it does say that the police are still investigating

The comments on the mail aren't working on that story which is a shame as it's fun reading all the stupid comments (red light jumping/road tax/cycle lane etc.).

got hit and run once, two witnesses saw the driver and the reg, coppers, when I said I did want them to investigate, wrote the registered keeper a letter, when he said in writing it wasn't him driving, that was that

one really does wonder what it is they actually do, be on sick leave as far as i can see

If the attacker has no previous he'll more than likely just be fined and bound over to keep the peace, his DNA will be taken and kept on record though. Worth taking out a civil action for Trespass to the person, get some money out of the bloke.

That looked dodgy as f***!

I really dont want to imagine what the others in the car would have done if someone attempted to restrain the driver.

He'll be charged with 'Assault by beating' IMO and will face a big old fine with compensation. Also, depending on previous convictions etc he may well have to attend community service courses to include anger management and the like

Not forgetting any relationship to the owner.

It they are different there may be 'taking without owners consent' & 'driving without insurance'. If not then 'attempting to pervert ...' might be a line a police force seeking a little redemption might seize ...
