Went out for a family evening ride last night and just after dusk we saw the shuttle, followed by the space station crossing the sky. They just looked like a small star followed by a bigger star going very fast, probably taking 2-3 minutes to cross the south westerly sky quite low down.
With the clear weather expected for the next few days it's worth getting out to see them for yourself. Here is one of several websites giving times and directions:
