And did you actually check snopes yourself? No, because if you did, you wouldn't have reposted this hoax.

I have a friend (not a close one) who keeps sending me this crap and it really gets on my wick!! No matter how often I explain that this stuff is a waste of space and time, they keep sending me it.

People, any e-mail that asks you to send it on to as many other people as possible (usually in capital letters!) is either a viral e-mail or a hoax.

DO NOT SEND THESE E-MAILS ON TO ANYONE!!

easy kidda! I only did what I thought was the right thing- i've never even heard of snopes. go and get yourself a brew and a sit down.

You can't have read the email very well then!! It mentions snopes.com in there. Anyway, no harm done, I hope you learn from the experience.

I get these from time to time from well meaning relatives and friends but I was rather surprised to get one from an experienced IT chap from a major vendor via my IT Project manager wife- both allegedly with over 20 years experience!

Three or four years ago, an E-mail hoax circulated at work - not an IT/virus hoax but the well-known one about cars driving about with no lights ("The first person who 'flashes' them, points at them or sounds their Horn at them, has to be followed by that new gang member in their car, who then has to fire a shot into that vehicle !!! with no regard as to who is inside"). Possibly some of you will have heard of that one. Dismissed by Snopes and other hoax-busters, as were many others of this type. The point is, this hoax was backed up as genuine by our facilities manager, a guy also responsible for our security, well in with the local police and other facilities managers around the estate, and regularly having meetings with the local plod's Beat Officer. He really should have known better. Instead, he got rather shirty when I pointed out to him, backed by evidence, that it was a hoax...
