Hmm, I'm not sure I'm as happy as everyone else about this... I've just worked out how best to utilize all of my winter clothes!

And the roads will be swamped with fair weather commuters all unfit and getting in the way.

Hey, maybe next year some of them will choose to earn their stripes over the winter instead of getting in the way AND polluting.

At the moment I am in Longyearbyen for a break


We had "twilight" for about an hour, otherwise totally dark

What has stunned me is that it is -20, snow and ice, and the number of bikes being ridden and used for all the same reason we would in the UK

If I take one thing back, it will be the absolutely bog standard hybrid with child trailer doing the school run

Next time I look out the window and wonder.... I can only be considered as a wimp

It's the fair weather roadies that bother me. 4 months on the rollers means their bike control skills have degraded, and what little roadcraft they possessed has gone to pot through lack of disciplined practice. They'll be wobbling all over the place, turning without looking, all the rest of it.

My mother in law uses rollers

She boils them in a pan then clips them to her hair

I have never seen her wobble whilst using them

It was daylight at 7.30 this morning!, make the cycle to work more enjoyable..

Well it's almost light as I set off in the morning but definitely light on the way home, only needed light for one evening journey when it was really dump and dreary this week.
