This problem emerged on my Bolt v1 but its also affects Roam v1 as well

I have a Bolt v1 so did some digging after reading your post, seems everyone with v1 Bolt and Roam affected. Bugger, was planning to ride today.
I still will but it'll be odd "flying" blind.

Apparently Wahoo are aware and working on a fix...

I only have a Bolt as far as a proper GPS unit and although it's v1 it's so far been perfect and I still get around 10-12 hrs battery life. As it happens I have been waiting for an excuse to upgrade to a Roam v2 or v3 but I'd rather do it on my own terms not due to a glitch in the matrix.

I've still got an old Cateye wireless Velo speed sensor unit so I'll use that if it still works and I can remember how to! I'll at least have speed/distance/time so I can manually upload ride later to Strava etc.

After 8 years of cadence/grade/HR/segments etc it'll seem odd to go old school.

Sure? Mines on GMT. I presume they are now counting a day on from Sunday being 1 Jan 2006, hence why I quoted 2 Jan in the topic heading posting it yesterday

In the short term, you might be able to change the timestamp for recorded rides using tools such as...

https://gotoes.org/strava/index.php

Mine from last evening didn't upload. Pretty pointless if it did as one of the issues is it keeps on losing the satelllite meaning it shows a speed reading of -- and Sundays ride uploaded with straight lines between locations where it had connected, and I deleted that ride data.

OK, I went for a short ride 20 mile with the wife. Bolt behaved as normal all ride, speed fine as was elevation, cadence etc. I had my old Cateye up and running as well and the speed tallied well and no drop outs etc. Only indication was time was set to GMT not BST, that is I set off at 11:50 but time on Bolt showed 10:50.
On completion of ride I ended it and as with others it showed Aug 2006.
Ride didn't seem to sync with Strava, I didn't get notification etc but searching back to 2006 the ride is there and complete inc segments etc. Using the fitfile tools I changed date and time and ride shows up as today and right time. A slight faff but doable so I'll continue to use Bolt for rides and just adjust post ride until Wahoo send out a fix.

I've had an 830 since 2019 - it's easy to use.

Same here, very easy to use. Plan rides in Strava, they automatically upload* to the unit. load the course, hit start and forget about it. At the end hit pause and save it. Ride automatically uploads to Strava*

Not following a route, hit start and forget about it. At the end hit pause and save it.

*Goes via Garmin Connect, but this is also automatic. You can use Garmin Connect to plan routes if you wish.
